SCENIC RUN THROUGH ANCIENT PINE FOREST
ONE OF Scotland's most scenic races of the summer is scheduled for Saturday, August
12. The RSPB Abernethy 10 mile road race follows roads and tracks through the
magnificent Abernethy Forest, one of Scotland's few remaining Caledonian Pine
forests.
Race organiser Rob Lawson told THE SCOTTISH RUNNING GUIDE: "I'm expecting
a field of close to 100 for the event this year and entrants will be pleased to hear that
it's a relatively flat course. Runners will really enjoy running in this special setting."
All competitors pay the gate admission for entry to the Abernethy Highland Games
(£5 adult/£14 family) however there is no registration fee for entering the event.
